Jonathan Cabrera came out of the goal and Oswaldo Toledano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12th minute, William Ocampo made a precise shot to the right of Milton Padilla. Cóban Imperial's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When Max Castillo fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Heswall's protests and gave Max Castillo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Heswall getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Max Castillo hit a great ball. Jonathan Cabrera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efrain Gomez in the 21st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oswaldo Toledano got free with Jonathan Cabrera in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Oswaldo Toledano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Oswaldo Toledano sped through Heswall's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Cabrera. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oswaldo Toledano to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Erick Guardado suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Cóban Imperial made a substitution. Emiliano Ruiz replaced Erick Guardado. After having played for 84 minutes, Oswaldo Toledano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cóban Imperial's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oswaldo Toledano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Cóban Imperial's goalkeeper Milton Padilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by William Ocampo. In the 91st minute Oswaldo Toledano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Cabrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Despite being the better team, Cóban Imperial failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
