But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Uriel Matos couldn't finish the play. Bernardo Saenz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roy Villareal having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Escazu FC's goal looked a bit too open when David Murillo came free, but Roy Villareal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bernardo Saenz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Los Chiles FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
