Spectators: 6786 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1786, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Felix Borbon got the match started through his kick off. Carlos Orlich didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felix Borbon went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Felix Borbon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Orlich having to interfere. When David Castro fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tamarindo AFC's protests and gave David Castro a yellow card for diving instead. After 14 played minutes Tamarindo AFC got a freekick which was hit by David Castro. Wilbert Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Orlich having to interfere. After 21 minutes, Edgar Acuña mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paquera FC and the Tamarindo AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Paquera FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Edgar Acuña hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute of the match Tito Rivas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mauricio Morales skillfully saved the ball. Wilbert Lopez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felix Borbon struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Carlos Orlich didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paquera FC. A collision led to Paquera FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Macho Mena hit a great ball. In the 41st minute Jose Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauricio Morales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jose Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Mauricio Morales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mauricio Morales made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Minor Romero in the 45th minute of play. If Jose Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jose Duarte in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mauricio Morales prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Paquera FC's Wilbert Lopez got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Felix Borbon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 58 played minutes Tamarindo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Tito Rivas. In the 60th minute of the match Freddy Soto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Orlich showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Felix Borbon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgar Acuña received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Carlos Orlich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the game, Minor Chaverri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paquera FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tamarindo AFC the free kick. In the 68th match minute, Paquera FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Minor Chaverri to maneuver through the defense. Mauricio Morales showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Duarte in the 73rd minute of the match. Minor Romero in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mauricio Morales, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Carlos Orlich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilbert Lopez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 89 played minutes Tamarindo AFC got a freekick which was hit by David Castro. If Wilbert Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tamarindo AFC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Paquera FC's much stronger midfield.
