Tuto Arguedas might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Efrain Hidalgo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tuto Arguedas ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arsenio Guillen in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adolfo Herrera saved Bejuco FC from getting behind. If Tuto Arguedas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25thth minute of the game Pablo Soto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Limon FC's Efrain Hidalgo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Tuto Arguedas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bejuco FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tuto Arguedas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Efrain Hidalgo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arsenio Guillen scored 1-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adolfo Herrera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Asdrubal Naranjo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Bejuco FC booed when Limon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsenio Guillen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes into the game, Asdrubal Naranjo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Adolfo Herrera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 47th minute, Asdrubal Naranjo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adolfo Herrera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After the first half Limon FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arsenio Guillen to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Asdrubal Naranjo got free with Adolfo Herrera in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Bejuco FC's zone, Arsenio Guillen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Herrera came out of the goal and Arsenio Guillen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pablo Soto struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Efrain Hidalgo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bejuco FC. Valentin Cantillo hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Arsenio Guillen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Herrera having to interfere. When Pedro Luna fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Efrain Hidalgo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pablo Soto went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. A hard shot by Elmer Morera from long distance, 92 minutes into the match, got Adolfo Herrera's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Rene Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 101st minute. Efrain Hidalgo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Bejuco FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Limon FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Limon FC.
