The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Willie Vega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo Huertas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 4th minute Isidoro Leiton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willie Vega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Rafael Quiros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Willie Vega was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Rafael Quiros put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Willie Vega. In the 12th minute, Isidoro Leiton made a precise shot to the right of Willie Vega. la Fortuna AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The CD Juventud Hatillo fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when CD Juventud Hatillo's Rafael Quiros looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Irving Mesa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Ronald Ortega made a huge save. 23 minutes into the match, la Fortuna AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Quiros came free, but Willie Vega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute, Olman Jarquin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the game, Isidoro Leiton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Willie Vega was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Irving Mesa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. la Fortuna AFC's Willie Vega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Huertas in the 36th minute of play. Ronald Ortega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Irving Mesa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronald Ortega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Greivin Matamoros, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Isidoro Leiton made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Evaristo Huertas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Juventud Hatillo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evaristo Huertas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ronald Ortega came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by la Fortuna AFC's Raul Herrera. But to his dismay, Raul Herrera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isidoro Leiton got free with Willie Vega in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. la Fortuna AFC's Willie Vega proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save la Fortuna AFC from getting a goal against them. Ronald Ortega came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by la Fortuna AFC's Roy Herrera. But to his dismay, Roy Herrera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. 70 minutes into the match, CD Juventud Hatillo's goal looked a bit too open when Greivin Matamoros came free, but Ronald Ortega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Willie Vega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Quiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jose Fuentes hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Evaristo Huertas managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Juventud Hatillo's supporters rose to their feet, but Evaristo Huertas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Willie Vega breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 84 minutes into the match, Isidoro Leiton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Willie Vega. la Fortuna AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isidoro Leiton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-5. Evaristo Huertas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of CD Juventud Hatillo booed when la Fortuna AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roy Herrera didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isidoro Leiton got free with Willie Vega in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. CD Juventud Hatillo played a much better game than la Fortuna AFC and deserved their victory. The la Fortuna AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
