Spectators: 6811 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1811, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Minor Caballero started the match with the kick off. After having played for 9 minutes, Virgilio Castillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coto Brus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgilio Castillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 14th minute Carlos Echeverria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Merino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 15 minutes, Minor Caballero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herradura FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Minor Caballero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Minor Caballero came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Herradura FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Minor Caballero couldn't finish the play. Pablo Colon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Minor Caballero, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Marco Oreamuno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pablo Colon having to make a save. Minor Caballero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Colon having to interfere. If Carlos Echeverria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Herradura FC's Saul Merino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Echeverria in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Herradura FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Echeverria came free, but Saul Merino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Coto Brus defense, Minor Caballero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pablo Colon. The Coto Brus fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pablo Colon should have stopped the shot. Virgilio Castillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The wind increased when Carlos Echeverria made the kick off in the second half. Carlos Echeverria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute, Braulio Bolaños hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Herradura FC's Celso Colon got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Virgilio Castillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saul Merino having to interfere. Virgilio Castillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Minor Caballero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Pablo Colon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgilio Castillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Saul Merino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 96 played minutes Coto Brus got a freekick which was hit by Inocencio Barahona. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Herradura FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
