Spectators: 6799 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1799, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ulises Wanchope took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 13thth minute of the game Pedro Solis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Coto Brus's Pablo Colon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 16 minutes into the game, Carlos Echeverria recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Otton Thome. Carlos Echeverria showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Carlos Echeverria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Otton Thome tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Escazu FC's goalkeeper Otton Thome had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgilio Castillo. The crowd rose to their feet as Coto Brus's Carlos Echeverria slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Otton Thome. That made the score 2-0 after 38 minutes of play. 44 minutes into the match, Escazu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Echeverria came free, but Otton Thome reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Escazu FC's zone, Santiago Alfaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otton Thome came out of the goal and Santiago Alfaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

After a rather tough play, Coto Brus's Rene Gallo got a free kick in the 55th minute. Pablo Colon acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 56th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Efrain Aguilar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulises Wanchope in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pablo Colon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 60th minute, Virgilio Castillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 62 minutes, Carlos Echeverria made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Escazu FC's Otton Thome tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Carlos Echeverria's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Otton Thome was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Pablo Colon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulises Wanchope, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. A collision led to Coto Brus getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Santiago Alfaro hit a great ball. Pedro Solis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pablo Colon came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Escazu FC's Pedro Solis. But to his dismay, Pedro Solis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. When Virgilio Castillo came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Coto Brus fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgilio Castillo couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Coto Brus's zone, Pedro Solis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pablo Colon came out of the goal and Pedro Solis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute Ulises Wanchope shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Colon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rene Gallo hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. 89 minutes into the match, Pedro Solis notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Coto Brus's Pablo Colon. Pablo Colon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Carlos Echeverria blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Otton Thome having to make a save. Coto Brus were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Escazu FC for a fine match.
