Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulises Wanchope in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck 于卫挺 prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Paul Padilla kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Otton Thome stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilmer Hurtado's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. The supporters of Escazu FC booed when AC Paranaense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Pinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Pedro Solis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Escazu FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Solis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 于卫挺 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Escazu FC's Otton Thome played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanley Arrieta in the 33rd minute of play. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Wilmer Hurtado sped through Escazu FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Otton Thome. The crowd rose to their feet as Escazu FC's Ulises Wanchope slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of 于卫挺. That made the score 1-2 after 38 minutes of play. 于卫挺 stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ulises Wanchope's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Otton Thome took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Pinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wilmer Hurtado was the one to do the kick off. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Escazu FC reached it. 于卫挺 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulises Wanchope, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Stanley Arrieta notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Escazu FC's Otton Thome. Otton Thome was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Otton Thome was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wilmer Hurtado showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 93 minute of play. When the final whistle sounded AC Paranaense left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Escazu FC.
