Spectators: 6802 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1802, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Vinicio Campos took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 12th minute, Roy Ayala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Josue Davila fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Asdrubal Matos having to interfere. After 17 played minutes, Cahuita's Federico Villalobos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Asdrubal Matos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cahuita reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elvis Matute during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 18th minute of the game. One of Palmares AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cahuita:s goal. When the match had been going on for 20 minutes, Cahuita's Stanley Calderon got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Asdrubal Matos. 24 minutes into the match, Palmares AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Rosabal came free, but Asdrubal Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Virgilio Madriz kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Rodolfo Rosabal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Asdrubal Matos having to interfere. If Josue Davila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Josue Davila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Asdrubal Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Palmares AFC's goalkeeper Asdrubal Matos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Josue Davila. Vicente Ramirez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anibal Ayala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Palmares AFC's zone, Josue Davila stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Asdrubal Matos came out of the goal and Josue Davila tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rodolfo Rosabal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodolfo Rosabal was the one to do the kick off. Palmares AFC's Asdrubal Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Rosabal in the 52nd minute of play. Anibal Ayalas short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Vicente Ramirez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Palmares AFC's Anibal Ayala was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 55th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Vicente Ramirez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vinicio Campos's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Josue Davila fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Asdrubal Matos having to interfere. Anibal Ayala recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 72 played minutes Cahuita got a freekick which was hit by Buenaventura Solera. Rodolfo Rosabal struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Asdrubal Matos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cahuita. Asdrubal Matos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Josue Davila went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 82nd match minute, Palmares AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roy Ayala to maneuver through the defense. Asdrubal Matos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Rosabal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodolfo Rosabal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cahuita had won after a very even match.
