Felipe Centeno could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Otto Carvajal made a huge save. 4 minutes into the match, Quepos AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Ulloa came free, but Henry Mesen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Quepos AFC's Alejandro Lehman got a free kick in the 5th minute. Alejandro Lehman charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alejandro Lehman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 20 played minutes Naranjo got a freekick which was hit by Elvis Esquivel. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonel Ulloa in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henry Mesen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Quepos AFC's Henry Mesen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Ulloa in the 34th minute of play. After some careless play in the Naranjo defense, Agustin Mendez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Otto Carvajal. The Naranjo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Otto Carvajal should have stopped the shot. Naranjo were awarded a corner in the 50th minute after Quepos AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Elvis Esquivel took the corner. The corner led Naranjo's Vinicio Tenorio to a score. 1-1 in the 50th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Agustin Mendez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leonel Ulloa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Centeno in the 61st minute of play forced Naranjo's goalkeeper Otto Carvajal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otto Carvajal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustin Mendez in the 63rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Naranjo's Heriberto Ortiz got a free kick in the 69th minute. Otto Carvajal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Centeno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustin Mendez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otto Carvajal having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Naranjo's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Centeno came free, but Otto Carvajal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Leonel Ulloa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alejandro Lehman was shown his second yellow card after 78 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 79 played minutes Quepos AFC got a freekick which was hit by Alejandro Lehman. When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Leonel Ulloa sped through Quepos AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Henry Mesen. 86 minutes into the game, Leonel Ulloa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Henry Mesen. Leonel Ulloa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Felipe Centeno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Otto Carvajal having to make a save. Felipe Centeno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Naranjo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
