Diego Cordero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rene Acuña's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. 8 minutes into the match, la Fortuna FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rene Acuña came free, but Diego Cordero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mugiwara Boys's Leopoldo Gamboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Mugiwara Boys from getting a goal against them. 16 minutes into the match, Mugiwara Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo Rivera came free, but Leopoldo Gamboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rene Acuña received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Diego Cordero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego Cordero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salomon Matos in the 28th minute of play. Eleuterio Dodorol's late challenge caught a la Fortuna FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eleuterio Dodorol helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to la Fortuna FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Otoniel Redondo hit a great ball. When Mugiwara Boys's Rene Acuña in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye la Fortuna FC's goalie prevented a goal. Jaime Tenorio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Diego Cordero. la Fortuna FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rene Acuña was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st match minute, la Fortuna FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Robles to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute of the match Eleuterio Dodorol shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Diego Cordero showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Eleuterio Dodorol got his second yellow card in the match during the 57th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mugiwara Boys fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! A collision led to la Fortuna FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Otoniel Redondo hit a great ball. Salomon Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Diego Cordero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clodomiro Millot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alvin Guardia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 71st minute Alexander Morera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Gamboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Salomon Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otoniel Redondo in the 78th minute of play forced Mugiwara Boys's goalkeeper Leopoldo Gamboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Mugiwara Boys's Jaime Tenorio got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 83rd minute, la Fortuna FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Salomon Matos fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Salomon Matos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diego Cordero having to make a save. Leopoldo Gamboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexander Morera, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 95 minutes into the game, Keylor Duran threw the ball into play from the sideline. Mugiwara Boys's Eladio Chaverri quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Salomon Matos came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Mugiwara Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salomon Matos couldn't finish the play. Mugiwara Boys's Clodomiro Millot got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The la Fortuna FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
