No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eladio Mejias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 61 minutes, Eladio Mejias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arenal AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eladio Mejias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Arenal AFC's goalkeeper Humberto Zamora had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alexander Morera. In the 67th minute, Eladio Mejias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Abelardo Rivera received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Humberto Zamora came out and tried to block the shot, but Abelardo Rivera slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eladio Mejias in the 85th minute of play forced la Fortuna FC's goalkeeper Diego Cordero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Alexander Morera took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Humberto Zamora to make any attempt to save it. In the 90th minute, Eladio Mejias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Arenal AFC defense, Alexander Morera kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Humberto Zamora. The Arenal AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Humberto Zamora should have stopped the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched la Fortuna FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
