Cid Quesada made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Alexander Morera sent off a good shot on target. Fidel Pineda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Diego Cordero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Alexander Morera managed to get in a good position for a shot. la Fortuna FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexander Morera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cid Quesada breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alexander Morera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Cid Quesada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Franklin Kamakiri hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 20 minutes into the match, Braulio Garro sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Cid Quesada threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Braulio Garro this time. Diego Cordero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keilor Campos in the 22nd minute of play. Diego Cordero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fidel Pineda's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. After 24 played minutes la Fortuna FC got a freekick which was hit by Leo Chavarria. After having played for 28 minutes, Hernan Madriz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zancudo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hernan Madriz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Fidel Pineda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo Rivera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fidel Pineda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Cordero having to interfere. Abelardo Rivera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Fidel Pineda made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, la Fortuna FC's Otoniel Redondo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cid Quesada made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 55th minute, Hernan Madriz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Keilor Campos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Diego Cordero made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Morera in the 69th minute of play forced Zancudo FC's goalkeeper Cid Quesada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Keilor Campos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Diego Cordero when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, la Fortuna FC's Diego Cordero got control of the ball when Keilor Campos tried to sneak it across the goal line. la Fortuna FC's Diego Cordero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save la Fortuna FC from getting a goal against them. Fidel Pineda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diego Cordero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Diego Cordero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fidel Pineda in the 93rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Braulio Peña during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 96th match minute, Zancudo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braulio Peña to maneuver through the defense.
