Victor Amador made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 3rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Alex Obando would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After 6 played minutes Ojochal AFC got a freekick which was hit by Frank Araya. Chunche Heredia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Israel Artavia, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Victor Amador received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Alex Obando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Victor Amador had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jason Saenz was extremely unlucky when he, in the 20th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Olger Osorio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chunche Heredia having to interfere. In the 24th minute Israel Artavia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chunche Heredia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chunche Heredia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Echeverri in the 28th minute of the match. Chunche Heredia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Israel Artavia went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Jason Saenz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Obando having to interfere. If Olger Osorio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Olger Osorio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ojochal AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Olger Osorio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chunche Heredia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 58 minutes into the game, Ojochal AFC's Israel Artavia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chunche Heredia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Alex Obando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Amador, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Puntarenas AFC's zone, Olger Osorio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chunche Heredia came out of the goal and Olger Osorio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 73 played minutes Puntarenas AFC got a freekick which was hit by Celso Huetar. Israel Artavia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victor Echeverri hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Israel Artavia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Chunche Heredia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jason Saenz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alex Obando prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 98th minute Victor Amador shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Obando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
