With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alvaro Ugalde in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Camacho saved Real Cartucho from getting behind. When Alvaro Ugalde came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Leeds Utd AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alvaro Ugalde couldn't finish the play. 30 minutes into the match, Leeds Utd AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Saul Barrantes came free, but Adalberto Palacios reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saul Barrantes in the 33rd minute of play forced Leeds Utd AFC's goalkeeper Adalberto Palacios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Leeds Utd AFC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Hugo Lobo hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Leeds Utd AFC's Alvaro Ugalde got a free kick in the 39th minute. The corner led Real Cartucho's Enrique Quiros to fire away a dangerous shot which Adalberto Palacios despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Alvaro Ugalde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Saul Barrantes to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Leon Jimenez rounded Real Cartucho's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-2. If Pepe Leiton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saul Barrantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
