The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan Mata in the 8th minute of play forced Baru AFC's goalkeeper Santiago Becker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernie Flores recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Alan Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alan Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Becker having to interfere. Nicolas Artavia hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After 21 minutes, Mainor Lozano made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Grecia's Tuto Matarrita tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Brian Cubero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. After the first half Baru AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernie Flores to make the kick off. Tuto Matarrita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chunche Barahona in the 51st minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Bernie Flores's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santiago Becker was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Baru AFC's Mainor Lozano managed to work through Grecia's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Mainor Lozano dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Baru AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
