Oscar Gaitan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel Chavarria having to interfere. In the 20th match minute, Los Chiles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipe Rojas to maneuver through the defense. Leo Lankaster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Oscar Gaitan managed to get in a good position for a shot. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gabriel Trejos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Los Chiles booed when La Liga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inocencio Oreamuno didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a left leg Leonel Chavarria saved Los Chiles from getting behind. Gabriel Cantillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Gabriel Cantillo put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Leonel Chavarria. In the 93rdth minute of the game Gabriel Cantillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Chiles's Leonel Chavarria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Los Chiles getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Irvin Pinto hit a great ball. Inocencio Oreamuno took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leonel Chavarria. Los Chiles's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gabriel Cantillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonel Chavarria. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriel Cantillo ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The La Liga fans cheered their team off the field, for while Los Chiles had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
