In the 46thth minute of the game Alain Martinez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cahuita's Leonel Guillen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guido Rojas made a kick off. If Alain Martinez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cahuita's zone, Ronald Mesen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonel Guillen came out of the goal and Ronald Mesen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ronald Mesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alain Martinez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Leonel Guillen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronald Mesen in the 84th minute of play forced Cahuita's goalkeeper Leonel Guillen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cahuita's Leonel Guillen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronald Mesen in the 89th minute of play. If Guido Rojas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alain Martinez came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Golfito FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alain Martinez couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Golfito FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cahuita throughout the match.
