The crowd rose to their feet as DESPICHE FC's Irving Sosa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Willy Oreamuno. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. Willy Oreamuno was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Irving Sosa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 7 minute of play. Irving Sosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Willy Oreamuno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Irving Sosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 17 played minutes GALÁCTICOS FC got a freekick which was hit by Donald Hidalgo. The supporters of DESPICHE FC booed when GALÁCTICOS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fello Flores didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hugo Alpizar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The attack was good, but when Irving Sosa in the 25th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Javier Mendez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willy Oreamuno having to interfere. Javier Mendez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Willy Oreamuno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. GALÁCTICOS FC's Willy Oreamuno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irving Sosa in the 35th minute of play. After having played for 44 minutes, Irving Sosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DESPICHE FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Irving Sosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th minute, Irving Sosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Irving Sosa made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in GALÁCTICOS FC's zone, Hugo Alpizar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Willy Oreamuno came out of the goal and Hugo Alpizar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The DESPICHE FC fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when DESPICHE FC's Irving Sosa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Efrain Arrieta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anibal Martinez, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. The referee gave DESPICHE FC a penalty, 63 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hugo Alpizar, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of GALÁCTICOS FC's Willy Oreamuno. 4-0. In the 66th minute Irving Sosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willy Oreamuno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, GALÁCTICOS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Irving Sosa came free, but Willy Oreamuno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. DESPICHE FC's Luis Araya was substituted for Mariano Coto. 73 minutes into the game, Aurelio Guardia threw the ball into play from the sideline. DESPICHE FC's Arsenio Azofeifa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Willy Oreamuno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Irving Sosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Otoniel Soto charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Otoniel Soto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
