An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Miranda in the 11th minute of play forced DESPICHE FC's goalkeeper Efrain Arrieta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emilio Sancho got free with Efrain Arrieta in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 15th minute of the match, Anselmo Miranda tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Efrain Arrieta saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Javier Mendez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Desiderio Palben having to make a save. DESPICHE FC's Efrain Arrieta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Miranda in the 20th minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Jonny Alfaro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Efrain Arrieta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mariano Coto kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronald Saenz got free with Efrain Arrieta in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 46 played minutes DESPICHE FC got a freekick which was hit by Pablo Matarrita. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Javier Mendez made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to CD Juventud Hatillo getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Adrian Gallo hit a great ball. Desiderio Palben made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Alpizar in the 54th minute of play. Hugo Alpizar in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Desiderio Palben, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronald Saenz during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
