Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gilberto Obando took the kick off in the first half of the match. Adolfo Coto was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 3rd minute. Cobano AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Adolfo Coto's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Josue Talamanca firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cid Leiton in the 6th minute of play forced Cobano AFC's goalkeeper Alvin Lopez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alvin Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cid Leiton in the 9th minute of play. 11 minutes into the game, Tulio Navarro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cobano AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ave Fenix the free kick. After 11 played minutes Cobano AFC got a freekick which was hit by Tulio Navarro. If Gilberto Obando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 17 minutes, Gilberto Obando managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ave Fenix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto Obando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alvin Lopez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Obando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Miguel Blen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alvin Lopez having to make a save. Cobano AFC's Alvin Lopez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Blen in the 30th minute of play. In the 35th match minute, Cobano AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogelio Guadamuz to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of Cobano AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ave Fenix:s goal. In the 39th minute Ave Fenix were awarded a corner. Gilberto Obando went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 42nd minute, Adolfo Coto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adolfo Coto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Josue Talamanca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Cobano AFC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Julio Varela hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

If Miguel Blen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute Gilberto Obando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvin Lopez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baltazar Wanchope's late challenge caught a Ave Fenix's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baltazar Wanchope helped the player get up and apologised. After 59 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cobano AFC! In the 61st minute there was a penalty for Ave Fenix. Gilberto Obando stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alvin Lopez. 0-2. Alan Duran charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alan Duran the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alan Duran kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. If Adolfo Coto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ave Fenix's Josue Talamanca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Coto in the 79th minute of play. Miguel Blen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rogelio Guadamuz during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rogelio Guadamuz hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Ave Fenix's Gilberto Obando got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Cid Leiton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Adolfo Coto fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cobano AFC's protests and gave Adolfo Coto a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cobano AFC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Adolfo Coto hit a great ball.
