Irving Sosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvin Lopez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Irving Sosa ran back to his position shaking his head. 12 minutes into the match, DESPICHE FC's goalkeeper Efrain Arrieta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adolfo Coto. Efrain Arrieta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adolfo Coto in the 14th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Irving Sosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. DESPICHE FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Irving Sosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alvin Lopez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alvin Lopez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Irving Sosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 17 minutes, Hugo Alpizar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DESPICHE FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugo Alpizar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, DESPICHE FC's Efrain Arrieta got control of the ball when Adolfo Coto tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 23rd minute Julio Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efrain Arrieta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Irving Sosa notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Cobano AFC's Alvin Lopez. Alvin Lopez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 29th minute, Tulio Navarro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Irving Sosa struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Alvin Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DESPICHE FC. In the 41st minute of the match Francisco Bolaños sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Efrain Arrieta skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the DESPICHE FC defense, Adolfo Coto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Efrain Arrieta. The DESPICHE FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Efrain Arrieta should have stopped the shot. Alvin Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irving Sosa in the 46th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Irving Sosa in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alvin Lopez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Cobano AFC booed when DESPICHE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Maldonado didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute Julio Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efrain Arrieta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute Cobano AFC were awarded a corner. Alexis Castillo went to the cornerflag to take it. Bernardo Talamanca kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Irving Sosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Irving Sosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvin Lopez having to interfere. Julio Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Efrain Arrieta having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Talamanca in the 75th minute of play forced DESPICHE FC's goalkeeper Efrain Arrieta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Efrain Arrieta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Guadamuz, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After a rather tough play, Cobano AFC's Rogelio Guadamuz got a free kick in the 78th minute. Efrain Arrieta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolfo Coto in the 83rd minute of the match. When Oscar Maldonado fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DESPICHE FC's protests and gave Oscar Maldonado a yellow card for diving instead. After 86 played minutes DESPICHE FC got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Maldonado. An unexpectedly hard shot by Irving Sosa in the 90th minute of play forced Cobano AFC's goalkeeper Alvin Lopez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luis Araya kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. In the 95th minute Irving Sosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvin Lopez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Many of DESPICHE FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. DESPICHE FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Cobano AFC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
