Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Vladimir Frid started the match with the kick off. After 5 minutes, Vladimir Frid made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's Rene Santamaria tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Pamplona FC's zone, Tito Bonilla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elar Queron came out of the goal and Tito Bonilla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's Elar Queron threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Valentin Heredia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Benito Jarquin in the 17th minute. Valentin Heredia in the 19thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Elar Queron, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's Valentin Heredia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rene Santamaria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinicio Ulate, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rene Santamaria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Izydor Betonowy in the 24th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Izydor Betonowy ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rene Santamaria was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The audience was convinced that Reiner Naranjo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rene Santamaria was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. 39 minutes into the match, SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir Frid came free, but Rene Santamaria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pamplona FC's Elar Queron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rigoberto Pinto in the 40th minute of play. Rene Santamaria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reiner Naranjo in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valentin Heredia made a kick off. If Reiner Naranjo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Pamplona FC's Vinicio Ulate got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute of the match, Reiner Naranjo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rene Santamaria was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Tito Bonilla succeeded in the game's 65th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. After a rather tough play, SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's Rigoberto Pinto got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute, Pamplona FC's Vladimir Frid ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rene Santamaria. Rene Santamaria yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's Kenneth Loaiza was substituted for Benito Jarquin. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valentin Heredia in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elar Queron saved Pamplona FC from getting behind. When Reiner Naranjo came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Pamplona FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reiner Naranjo couldn't finish the play. SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Izydor Betonowy scored to the left of an out of position Rene Santamaria, making the score, 2-4. After having played for 99 minutes, Israel Figueroa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pamplona FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Israel Figueroa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
