Arica's Leo Calera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sancho Miguelez in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Quicamachay FBC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Sancho Miguelez hit a great ball. Marcelino Carda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ler Planes having to interfere. In the 39th minute Marcelino Carda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ler Planes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leocadio Iglesias in the 41st minute of play forced Arica's goalkeeper Leo Calera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leocadio Iglesias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Marcelino Carda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ler Planes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Valerio Caneda came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Arica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valerio Caneda couldn't finish the play. With his leg Leo Calera managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Quicamachay FBC's Sancho Miguelez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 80 minutes, Valerio Caneda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valerio Caneda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcelino Carda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Leocadio Iglesias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
