An unexpectedly hard shot by Silviano Feijoo in the 23rd minute of play forced Recreo FBC's goalkeeper Gilesindo Bañuelos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Florencio Mirabal fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Recreo FBC's protests and gave Florencio Mirabal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 24th match minute, Recreo FBC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florencio Mirabal to maneuver through the defense. Haroldo Bonachea hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Universitario War's Narciso Loarte got a free kick in the 32nd minute. The supporters of Recreo FBC booed when Universitario War was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haroldo Bonachea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haroldo Bonachea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Gilesindo Bañuelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 44 minutes, Eliazar Lopidana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Recreo FBC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliazar Lopidana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Epifanio Armendarez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliazar Lopidana in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Universitario War were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silviano Feijoo was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Silviano Feijoo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gilesindo Bañuelos. Silviano Feijoo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. When Silviano Feijoo came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Universitario War fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silviano Feijoo couldn't finish the play. If Haroldo Bonachea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 70 minutes, Solustiano Lereira made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Recreo FBC's Gilesindo Bañuelos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Universitario War defense, Onofre Gordo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Epifanio Armendarez. The Universitario War fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Epifanio Armendarez should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Solustiano Lereira got free with Gilesindo Bañuelos in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Silviano Feijoo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Gilesindo Bañuelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilesindo Bañuelos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Solustiano Lereira's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Solustiano Lereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilesindo Bañuelos having to interfere. The Universitario War fans' excitement grew in the 95th match minute when Universitario War's Solustiano Lereira looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Universitario War played a much better game than Recreo FBC and deserved their victory. The Recreo FBC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
