After a defensive mix-up in Matalaque FBC's zone, Fagondo Guate stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rexino Miralles came out of the goal and Fagondo Guate tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Belmiro Nalda kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Erubiel Olazabala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Melquiades Obeso in the 27th minute of play. Erubiel Olazabala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bahiano Tijera, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Raihua's goal looked a bit too open when Bahiano Tijera came free, but Erubiel Olazabala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lonzo Tavera was the one to do the kick off. Raihua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fagondo Guate was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rexino Miralles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lonzo Tavera in the 69th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Lonzo Tavera's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rexino Miralles was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game.
