The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the match, Orejones FBC's Cordarius Balmaseda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brion Sevane narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ramon Cantu in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teo Cedofeita saved Orejones FBC from getting behind. Brion Sevane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cordarius Balmaseda, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Ramon Cantu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Teo Cedofeita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Montel Soliss short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Teo Cedofeita to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience was convinced that Ramon Cantu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Teo Cedofeita was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. 27 minutes into the match, FC Alianza's goal looked a bit too open when John Gamiz came free, but Brion Sevane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Orejones FBC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Ramon Cantu made the kick off in the second half. Procopio Elizondo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Brion Sevane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, FC Alianza's goal looked a bit too open when Tauro Betoño came free, but Brion Sevane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Baladi Moscoso was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 64th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. John Gamiz struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Brion Sevane didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Orejones FBC.
