But to his dismay, Chesus Berdu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ovidio Brochero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cucao Icazate, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With 33 minutes on the clock, Ivon Ezguerra commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Balcon fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! After having played for 39 minutes, Oswaldo Ocaña managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balcon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oswaldo Ocaña was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Chieu FC's Alesander Pizarro got control of the ball when Garcia Pinazas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cucao Icazate might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ovidio Brochero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cucao Icazate ran back to his position shaking his head. Ovidio Brochero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cucao Icazate in the 44th minute of play. If Chesus Berdu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 46th minute, Cucao Icazate made a precise shot to the right of Ovidio Brochero. Balcon's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
