Edgar Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ler Argüello in the 20th minute of play. Ler Argüello might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edgar Santana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ler Argüello ran back to his position shaking his head. AFC's Marco Palacio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save AFC from getting a goal against them. 24 minutes into the match, AFC's Ler Argüello sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgar Santana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Basilio Jonsansoro made in the 26th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Atlético Xatun Xauxa's Nofre Oquendo. In the 27th minute José Berger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Palacio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, José Berger dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marco Palacio, 1-0. 32 minutes into the game, Enekoitz Cabada was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Atlético Xatun Xauxa:s goal. Bartolo Barricat shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. With a little luck, AFC's Marco Palacio got control of the ball when José Berger tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Chorache Lallera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 43 played minutes, AFC's Saturnino Comparada shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Edgar Santana came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AFC reached it. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bartolo Barricat was the one to do the kick off. Ler Argüello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Santana having to interfere. Marco Palacio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th match minute, Atlético Xatun Xauxa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 82 minutes, Ler Argüello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ler Argüello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Xatun Xauxa's zone, Ler Argüello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Santana came out of the goal and Ler Argüello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 91 minutes into the match, Atlético Xatun Xauxa's goal looked a bit too open when Ler Argüello came free, but Edgar Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute José Berger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Palacio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
