The audience was convinced that Abelardo Brieba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eneas Aparicio was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. In the 6th minute of the match Juan Aurich got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Juan Aurich's Honesto Ares was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eneas Aparicio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Eneas Aparicio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abelardo Brieba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abelardo Brieba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Peru's Ricardo Servin got a free kick in the 13th minute. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Chaime Llorente hit a great ball. When Juan Aurich's Arnulfo Peñuelas in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 21 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Servin. If Abelardo Brieba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute Abelardo Brieba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eneas Aparicio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bras Aranguiz hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Abelardo Brieba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Abelardo Brieba kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eneas Aparicio. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eneas Aparicio should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henric Badiola in the 41st minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Eneas Aparicio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's Eneas Aparicio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Brieba in the 44th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Brieba in the 47th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Eneas Aparicio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Feo Maiz to strike the kick off in the second half. Dabi Pesante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Ludomir Opat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dabi Pesante took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ludomir Opat. Ludomir Opat dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 57th minute, Arnulfo Peñuelas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zabal Moyano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Eneas Aparicio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Peru's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Arnulfo Peñuelas fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 74th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chaime Llorente to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Juan Aurich's Honesto Ares tried to score from far away in the 74th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Eneas Aparicio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zabal Moyano in the 80th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Eneas Aparicio successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Juan Aurich's Abelardo Brieba got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnulfo Peñuelas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Eneas Aparicio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abelardo Brieba received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eneas Aparicio came out and tried to block the shot, but Abelardo Brieba slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 89th minute. 96 minutes into the match, Juan Aurich's Abelardo Brieba sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eneas Aparicio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match was over Juan Aurich could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Peru throughout the match.
