Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Reynaldo Arza made the kick off which started today's match. Alianza Lima's Gomez Almansa got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 4 minutes into the match, Gomez Almansa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Yocape's Caitano Esquide. Caitano Esquide was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Bidari Jaimes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute, one of Alianza Lima:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Alianza Lima. A collision led to Yocape getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Reynaldo Arza hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bidun Turiel during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Alianza Lima's Bidun Turiel got a free kick in the 15th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Bidun Turiel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Caitano Esquide. Yocape's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bidun Turiel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 20 minutes, Bernardo Pis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yocape and the Alianza Lima players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th match minute, Yocape was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Pis to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Alianza Lima booed when Yocape was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viator Moyeda didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reynaldo Arza in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Martinez Palacio saved Alianza Lima from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Arza in the 34th minute of play forced Alianza Lima's goalkeeper Martinez Palacio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caitano Esquide made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bidun Turiel in the 39th minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Alianza Lima's goal looked a bit too open when Bidari Jaimes came free, but Martinez Palacio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martinez Palacio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cris Urtiaran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Alianza Lima were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Alianza Lima getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Roger Reyna hit a great ball. In the 53rd minute Reynaldo Arza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martinez Palacio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Alianza Lima's zone, Bidari Jaimes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martinez Palacio came out of the goal and Bidari Jaimes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bidari Jaimes in the 55th minute of play forced Alianza Lima's goalkeeper Martinez Palacio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Zeruko Videgaray managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yocape's supporters rose to their feet, but Zeruko Videgaray was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martinez Palacio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bidari Jaimes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Martinez Palacio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Alianza Lima's goalkeeper Martinez Palacio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Reynaldo Arza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martinez Palacio having to interfere. Martinez Palacio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Arza in the 65th minute of the match. Bidari Jaimes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martinez Palacio having to make a save. Bidun Turiel scored 0-3 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Caitano Esquide, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Reynaldo Arza came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Yocape fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reynaldo Arza couldn't finish the play. Reynaldo Arza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martinez Palacio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Martinez Palacio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Arza, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Yocape's goalkeeper Caitano Esquide had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gomez Almansa. After some careless play in the Alianza Lima defense, Bidari Jaimes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martinez Palacio. The Alianza Lima fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martinez Palacio should have stopped the shot. Alianza Lima were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Yocape's much stronger midfield.
