Tab Sotuela got his second yellow card in the match during the 16th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 17 played minutes Ayacucho FC got a freekick which was hit by Tab Sotuela. If Matro Calera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 21 minutes, Matro Calera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Umpapata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matro Calera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Medero Lazaeta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camilo Tovilleja, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. A collision led to Ayacucho FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Telmo Romeo hit a great ball. In the 29th minute of the match Fausto Sauto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Medero Lazaeta skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Umpapata booed when Ayacucho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otsoko Bardece didn't get a good kick on the ball. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cordairo Antiñano to make the kick off. In the 51stth minute of the game Camilo Tovilleja who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ayacucho FC's Medero Lazaeta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Barto Boliaga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cordairo Antiñano in the 54th minute of the match. Matro Caleras short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Medero Lazaeta to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Medero Lazaeta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camilo Tovilleja, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Camilo Tovilleja was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 77th minute. Umpapata's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Matro Calera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cordairo Antiñano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Barto Boliaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Camilo Tovilleja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Medero Lazaeta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
