If Jacindo Dueñas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mercurio Calahorra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lano Montoto having to interfere. After 19th play minutes Jacindo Dueñas shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Edson Pascual and just under the crossbar into goal. Jacindo Dueñas struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Edson Pascual didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ornopampa. Lano Montoto made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Mercurio Calahorra sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Huancaroni booed when Ornopampa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldo Peroalfonso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ornopampa's Lano Montoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sabin Morenas in the 29th minute of play. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Huancaroni's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Afonso Licon was slow to take the kick. During this time Ornopampa's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Afonso Licon got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edson Pascual quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 39 minutes into the game, Sanson Chirivoga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Edson Pascual was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Huancaroni's Omar Respaldiza got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The audience was convinced that Jacindo Dueñas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edson Pascual was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Ornopampa's zone, Sabin Morenas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lano Montoto came out of the goal and Sabin Morenas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After having played for 53 minutes, Jacindo Dueñas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ornopampa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacindo Dueñas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 61st minute Jacindo Dueñas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edson Pascual saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute Mercurio Calahorra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lano Montoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 64 minutes, Sabin Morenas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When Osvaldo Peroalfonso came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Ornopampa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Peroalfonso couldn't finish the play. When Ornopampa's Jacindo Dueñas in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Huancaroni's goalie prevented a goal. Ornopampa's Charro Tejadillo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 84th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Edson Pascual but with some difficulty. If Sanson Chirivoga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sabin Morenas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ornopampa walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
