Club Alianza Lima's supporters rose to their feet, but Castel Torrecillas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Helder Bachicabo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Club Alianza Lima getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Raymond Manzardo hit a great ball. In the 13th minute Gonsalvo Sanchez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Maquilanda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Labrada scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sergio Maquilanda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sergio Maquilanda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claris Santayana, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Claris Santayana had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The supporters of Jayanquillo booed when Club Alianza Lima was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grabiel Queiruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jayanquillo's Bernardo Sarratea got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 65th minute Paulo Labrada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Maquilanda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Alianza Lima's Sergio Maquilanda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Club Alianza Lima from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Labrada got free with Sergio Maquilanda in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bernardo Sarratea in the 71stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sergio Maquilanda, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Helder Bachicabo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximino Hoyon, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Jayanquillo were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
