Bazkoare Munguira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xepe Zuñiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Fernado Afonso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pumachuco's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernado Afonso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bazkoare Munguira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 18 minutes into the game, Xepe Zuñiga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pumachuco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave San Martin FC the free kick. The supporters of San Martin FC booed when Pumachuco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xepe Zuñiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 minutes, Millan Ezquierdo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pumachuco and the San Martin FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st minute of the match Xavier Llamas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ekain Severino skillfully saved the ball. When Xepe Zuñiga came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Pumachuco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xepe Zuñiga couldn't finish the play. Fernado Afonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Bazkoare Munguira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bazkoare Munguira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xepe Zuñiga in the 28th minute of play. Bazkoare Munguira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernado Afonso in the 30th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Virila Urquia took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ekain Severino to make any attempt to save it. Gonsalve Naveda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Virila Urquia to strike the kick off in the second half. Ekain Severino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virila Urquia, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Bazkoare Munguira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pumachuco. Ekain Severino came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by San Martin FC's Gonsalve Naveda. But to his dismay, Gonsalve Naveda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Pumachuco's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
