The goalkeeper, Guillem Concha, was totally fooled by Pumachuco's Geraldo Gainzarain, who 38 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Fernado Afonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pumachuco's Xepe Zuñiga got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 47 played minutes FC Union Universitario got a freekick which was hit by Karmel Burdeos. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernado Afonso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernado Afonso in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guillem Concha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC Union Universitario's Guillem Concha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernado Afonso in the 55th minute of play. Micael Espin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Fernado Afonso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guillem Concha was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Xepe Zuñiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Guillem Concha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
