The wind increased when Austin Bebias made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Alianza Lima's Havier Valcuende sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cris Nobajas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Izotz Quicedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Playo Cavero was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Izotz Quicedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Playo Cavero having to interfere.
