After a rather tough play, Hungurahue FC's Santos Ordoñez got a free kick in the 15th minute. When Paulo Bucaran fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hungurahue FC's protests and gave Paulo Bucaran a yellow card for diving instead. Paulo Bucaran kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 22 minutes into the match, Jacinto Morellana sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Bonifaco Toraño threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Jacinto Morellana this time. A collision led to Hungurahue FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Eliazar Logares hit a great ball. After 32nd play minutes Anton Saz shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Bonifaco Toraño and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 35th minute, Niguel Alamos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Macacona FC! In the 43rd minute Demario Beguellina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xuan Ligero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Eliazar Logares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hungurahue FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Macacona FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Hungurahue FC's Eliazar Logares got a free kick in the 46th minute. Macacona FC's Jacinto Morellana couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 47th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Hungurahue FC. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marciano Ruete to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Demario Beguellina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Xuan Ligero. Macacona FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Demario Beguellina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Xuan Ligero didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliazar Logares went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Anton Saz scored 2-4 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bonifaco Toraño, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Anton Saz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 85 minutes, Niguel Alamos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Macacona FC and the Hungurahue FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 85th minute, Niguel Alamos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Salomone Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Bonifaco Toraño tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Macacona FC booed when Hungurahue FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Bucaran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bonifaco Toraño didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anton Saz went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score.
