Guillelme Ruidiez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bastian Guemez, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Atahualpa's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Macario Vegas ran over to the corner to take the kick. After the first half Olympique Lima were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Olympique Lima were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
