When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Leheren Ozuna took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Leonel Peres to make any attempt to save it. Leonel Peres was a little too slow when Leheren Ozuna got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 5-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Leonardo Gaiztarro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Tarapoto FBC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonardo Gaiztarro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonel Peres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The audience was convinced that Leonardo Gaiztarro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonel Peres was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Deportivo Tarapoto FBC had played much better football throughout.
