The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes, Lionel-Andrés Newell made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Roman Diaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lapurdi Iruleta in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match Lionel-Andrés Newell climbed in front of goal and pressed up 4-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Cordarrol Cepeda. When Lionel-Andrés Newell came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Universitario fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lionel-Andrés Newell couldn't finish the play. In the 28th minute, Universitario's Lionel-Andrés Newell ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cordarrol Cepeda. Cordarrol Cepeda yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 6-0. Lionel-Andrés Newell succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 7-0 in the 32nd playminute. 36 minutes into the match, Lionel-Andrés Newell notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Jhonny FC's Cordarrol Cepeda. Cordarrol Cepeda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 10-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ubarna Quintanadueñas to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Lionel-Andrés Newell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cordarrol Cepeda was frozen by the shot and now it was 11-0.
