Incendio Campelo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 9 minutes into the match. Haitz Betoño did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Cordarrol Cepeda 18 minutes into the match. After 35 played minutes UNIVERSITARIO got a freekick which was hit by Jerrold Vasquez. Haitz Betoños short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Cordarrol Cepeda to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Jhonny FC booed when UNIVERSITARIO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferran Picavea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cordarrol Cepeda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Haitz Betoño's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. After a rather tough play, UNIVERSITARIO's Zigor Feruel got a free kick in the 44th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Haitz Betoño to make the kick off. Xarles Rascon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Cordarrol Cepeda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 70 played minutes UNIVERSITARIO got a freekick which was hit by Xinaro Arriba. Rainerio Mannhardt tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Cordarrol Cepeda. An unnecessary self made goal, 4-0 in the 80th minute. If Ubarna Quintanadueñas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to UNIVERSITARIO getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Xarles Rascon hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haitz Betoño in the 95th minute of play forced Jhonny FC's goalkeeper Cordarrol Cepeda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The UNIVERSITARIO fans cheered their team off the field, for while Jhonny FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
