Unión Huaral's supporters crossed their fingers, but Salvino Cavia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karlo Ferreros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haitz Betoño, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Unión Huaral fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! Chepe Moran walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When Xarles Rascon came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the UNIVERSITARIO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xarles Rascon couldn't finish the play.

Karlo Ferreros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haitz Betoño, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Haitz Betoño did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Karlo Ferreros 57 minutes into the match. UNIVERSITARIO's Honesto Noguerol suffered a sprained foot after 67 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Marino Doro charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marino Doro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to UNIVERSITARIO getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Xarles Rascon hit a great ball. Karlo Ferreros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Haitz Betoño's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Xinaro Arriba in the 83rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Unión Huaral's Primeiro Amocia. The crowd rose to their feet as Haitz Betoño kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Karlo Ferreros. That made the score 0-3 in the 92 minute of play. The UNIVERSITARIO supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing UNIVERSITARIO would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
