The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Shantala Mariña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Txilar Palenzuela in the 5th minute of the match. CHILAPITO FC's Bernad Mazo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honesto Noguerol in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, CHILAPITO FC's Tebaldo Preciado got a free kick in the 8th minute. 12 minutes into the match, UNIVERSITARIO's goal looked a bit too open when Txilar Palenzuela came free, but Shantala Mariña reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haitz Betoño in the 18th minute of play forced CHILAPITO FC's goalkeeper Bernad Mazo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xarles Rascon kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Tebaldo Preciado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Shantala Mariña. UNIVERSITARIO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tebaldo Preciado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chepe Moran got free with Bernad Mazo in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Sein Albertos managed to get in a good position for a shot. CHILAPITO FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sein Albertos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shantala Mariña breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Txilar Palenzuela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shantala Mariña having to interfere. After 39 minutes, Xarles Rascon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UNIVERSITARIO and the CHILAPITO FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Haitz Betoño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Bernad Mazo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, UNIVERSITARIO's goal looked a bit too open when Txilar Palenzuela came free, but Shantala Mariña reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shantala Mariña showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Txilar Palenzuela, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Tebaldo Preciado managed to get in a good position for a shot. CHILAPITO FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tebaldo Preciado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shantala Mariña breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gaizka Aubets made in the 57th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Tebaldo Preciado. Honesto Noguerol struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Bernad Mazo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UNIVERSITARIO. Haitz Betoño sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gaizka Aubets got a throw-in 71 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Txilar Palenzuela. Txilar Palenzuela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shantala Mariña having to interfere. In the 78th minute, CHILAPITO FC's Tebaldo Preciado dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. After 84 played minutes CHILAPITO FC got a freekick which was hit by Txilar Palenzuela. Tebaldo Preciado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CHILAPITO FC played a much better game than UNIVERSITARIO and deserved their victory. The UNIVERSITARIO players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
