When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Fernanco Peso sped through UTC FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jānis Pavelskops. Jānis Pavelskops came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting Cristal's Fernanco Peso. But to his dismay, Fernanco Peso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After 15 minutes of play, Sporting Cristal's Fernanco Peso made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jānis Pavelskops was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jānis Pavelskops made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernanco Peso in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernanco Peso in the 21st minute of play forced UTC FC's goalkeeper Jānis Pavelskops to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernanco Peso might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jānis Pavelskops. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fernanco Peso ran back to his position shaking his head. Jānis Pavelskops showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernanco Peso in the 23rd minute of the match. Jānis Pavelskops came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting Cristal's Fernanco Peso. But to his dismay, Fernanco Peso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. 27 minutes into the match, Fernanco Peso notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of UTC FC's Jānis Pavelskops. Jānis Pavelskops was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. UTC FC's Jānis Pavelskops played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernanco Peso in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Fernanco Peso made a precise shot to the right of Jānis Pavelskops. UTC FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. Fernanco Peso might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jānis Pavelskops. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jānis Pavelskops was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jānis Pavelskops showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hüseyin Turan Elçibey, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 43rdth minute of the game Fernanco Peso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but UTC FC's Jānis Pavelskops was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 47 minutes, Hüseyin Turan Elçibey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Cristal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hüseyin Turan Elçibey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-9 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gumaro Jaraba to make the kick off. Fernanco Pesos short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Jānis Pavelskops to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernanco Peso in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jānis Pavelskops saved UTC FC from getting behind. Jānis Pavelskops didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 61st minute, which inside left pole to 0-11. After 66 minutes, Inacio Peñin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UTC FC and the Sporting Cristal players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sporting Cristal's Frank Tassotti was substituted for Delfino Rosario. In the 78th minute, Fernanco Peso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jānis Pavelskops was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-13. 85 minutes in the game Velasco Cantu did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Piearres Cena. 87 minutes into the match, Christian Luciano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jānis Pavelskops. UTC FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christian Luciano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-15. The audience was convinced that Christian Luciano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jānis Pavelskops was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Velasco Cantu hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Christian Luciano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the UTC FC defense, Christian Luciano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jānis Pavelskops. The UTC FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jānis Pavelskops should have stopped the shot. The UTC FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sporting Cristal were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
