Arsenio Pelayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Quiroga in the 24th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Majestic Club FC got a freekick which was hit by Mane Rapado. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Fallabes in the 31st minute of play forced Majestic Club FC's goalkeeper Arsenio Pelayo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Pero Echart put in a rough tackle. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manu Kanu was the one to do the kick off. If Paulo Fallabes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Majestic Club FC's Arsenio Pelayo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Majestic Club FC from getting a goal against them. 56 minutes into the game, Monitor Huáscar's Claudio Quiroga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arsenio Pelayo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Monitor Huáscar's Lin Jing Peng was substituted for Artemio Varas. In the 61st minute, Bernardinho Bala got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd minute Claudio Quiroga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arsenio Pelayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Majestic Club FC's goalkeeper Arsenio Pelayo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudio Quiroga. Monitor Huáscar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudio Quiroga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arsenio Pelayo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Quiroga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Claudio Quiroga made a precise shot to the right of Arsenio Pelayo. Majestic Club FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. After a defensive mix-up in Majestic Club FC's zone, Claudio Quiroga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arsenio Pelayo came out of the goal and Claudio Quiroga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 94th minute, but Arsenio Pelayo got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Majestic Club FC hanging dry this time. In the 95th minute Monitor Huáscar were awarded a corner. Modestio Cañucal went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Carlos Galván heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Monitor Huáscar eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
