Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orlando Navarro in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wiliam Morales prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wiliam Morales made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Navarro in the 11th minute of play. Max Corral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Cerro Punta's Victor Henriguez got control of the ball when Reinaldo Chavez tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 19th minute, Llano Marín's Reinaldo Chavez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Victor Henriguez. Victor Henriguez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Max Corral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Wiliam Morales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Cerro Punta's Orlando Navarro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wiliam Morales narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Llano Marín's goalkeeper Wiliam Morales, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Victor Henriguez acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 35th minute, took the ball on the long shot from David Spadafora. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Ramirez during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Cerro Punta getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Juan Ramirez hit a great ball. David Spadafora blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Victor Henriguez having to make a save. Reinaldo Chavez scored 2-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Victor Henriguez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Reinaldo Chavez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Llano Marín's supporters rose to their feet, but Reinaldo Chavez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victor Henriguez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. David Spadafora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Victor Henriguez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reinaldo Chavez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luchito Cedeño's late challenge caught a Llano Marín's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luchito Cedeño helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Llano Marín booed when Cerro Punta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luchito Cedeño didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 69 played minutes, Llano Marín's Ramón De Gracia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Victor Henriguez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Llano Marín reached it. Max Corral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wiliam Morales having to interfere. 90 minutes into the game, Orlando Navarro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wiliam Morales. Orlando Navarro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. Llano Marín were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cerro Punta for a fine match.
