The referee showed Luis Zambrano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 21 played minutes El Cortezo got a freekick which was hit by Luis Zambrano. Jorge Gutierrez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Espino in the 24th minute of the match. Hector Alfaro made a great header on Panama City – Capital's corner, it was just that El Cortezo's Jorge Gutierrez managed to reach the ball for a save. If Ivan Espino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute.
