Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Lucho De Paredes got the match started through his kick off. After a defensive mix-up in El Espavé's zone, Lucho De Paredes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Calito Tello came out of the goal and Lucho De Paredes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 10 minutes into the match, Nuevo San Juan's goal looked a bit too open when Romel Pimentel came free, but Gilberto Agurto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romel Pimentel in the 15th minute of play forced Nuevo San Juan's goalkeeper Gilberto Agurto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Calito Tello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Peren in the 19th minute of the match. Américo Ulloa charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Américo Ulloa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 25 minutes into the game, one of Nuevo San Juan:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucho De Paredes in the 33rd minute of play forced El Espavé's goalkeeper Calito Tello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilfredo Peren in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Calito Tello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wilfredo Peren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Romel Pimentel was the one to do the kick off. El Espavé's Enrique Peren got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. El Espavé's Calito Tello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucho De Paredes in the 54th minute of play. When Moisés Torrijos fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Espavé's protests and gave Moisés Torrijos a yellow card for diving instead. Moisés Torrijos kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucho De Paredes in the 57th minute of play forced El Espavé's goalkeeper Calito Tello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of El Espavé booed when Nuevo San Juan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Tello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romel Pimentel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 73 minutes, Juan Quirós mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nuevo San Juan and the El Espavé players grew even worse after the yellow card. Juan Quirós kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Nuevo San Juan's zone, Edgardo Orozco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Agurto came out of the goal and Edgardo Orozco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilberto Agurto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romel Pimentel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to El Espavé getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Heraclides Mendoza hit a great ball. Edgardo Orozco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The attack was good, but when Edgardo Orozco in the 85th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Romel Pimentel took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gilberto Agurto. Gilberto Agurto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. If Romel Pimentel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, El Espavé failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
