Spectators: 6796 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1796, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sergio Peren started the match with the kick off. When Las Cumbres F.C.'s Julio Spadafora in 2 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Azael Palma guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Luchito Quirós's late challenge caught a Potrero Grande F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luchito Quirós helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Las Cumbres F.C.'s Luchito Quirós got a free kick in the 6th minute. Sergio Peren struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Martín Quintero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Potrero Grande F.C.. A collision led to Las Cumbres F.C. getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Rafael Corral hit a great ball. Miguel Henriguez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fernando Toledano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martín Quintero having to interfere. In the 19th minute Sergio Peren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martín Quintero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Toledano took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martín Quintero. Martín Quintero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Fernando Toledano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sergio Peren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Julio Spadafora fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Las Cumbres F.C.'s protests and gave Julio Spadafora a yellow card for diving instead. Julio Spadafora hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergio Peren in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Martín Quintero saved Las Cumbres F.C. from getting behind. Julio Spadafora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Spadafora in the 39th minute of play forced Potrero Grande F.C.'s goalkeeper Azael Palma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sergio Peren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Potrero Grande F.C. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julio Spadafora to make the kick off. Miguel Henriguez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Spadafora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Azael Palma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Spadafora recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Azael Palma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Spadafora in the 57th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Fernando Toledano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Potrero Grande F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Toledano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martín Quintero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Miguel Henriguez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Azael Palma having to make a save. If Sergio Peren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Potrero Grande F.C.'s Sergio Peren got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Julio Spadafora came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Las Cumbres F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julio Spadafora couldn't finish the play. Potrero Grande F.C.'s Azael Palma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Spadafora in the 79th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Potrero Grande F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Henriguez came free, but Azael Palma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Fernando Toledano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fernando Toledano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martín Quintero having to make a save. In the 92nd minute, Sergio Peren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 93 minutes into the game, Julio Ramírez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Potrero Grande F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Las Cumbres F.C. the free kick. Julio Ramírez hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. 96 minutes had been played when some careless play by Potrero Grande F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rafael Corral was slow to take the kick. During this time Las Cumbres F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Potrero Grande F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
